History
Cemar
Mecânica de Precisão Ltda. was established
1985 with just five machines with the objective to
supply machining for DF Vasconcelos, original company
of three founders: Alcides, Erico and Mamerto. Shortly
after, Erico and Mamerto moved away, while Alcides
developed the company until 1989, when a health problem
forced his retirement. In that moment, Luiz took over
Cemar’s direction, remaining his position until
today.
Soon
in the first years, the company expanded its customer
portfolio and started investing in machinery modernization,
pursuing to gain productivity and quality. Cemar achieved
to occupy an important market-share of special precision
machining and conquered great customers, such as General
Motors and Fiat.
The
volume growth of its activities enabled the company
to invest in its infrastructure, including the new
headquarters, which was moved from an improvised site
to a proper shed of 1,000 m² in 1997.

At
this time the company focused the technology investments,
initiating acquisitions of machining centers. Moreover
the company emphasizes the importance of its employees,
improving their technique, offering productivity bonus
and including them in the services planning and execution.
The company is proud to have a sufficiently steady
and identified personnel with the organizational culture,
with average permanence in the company superior to
ten years.
From
the year 2000 the company started to receive pressure
from its customers, especially the big multinationals,
to adopt politics of quality management and processes
control. Cemar improved its quality and used to advantage
the costumers execution of auditorships to perceive
its imperfections and correct them.
